Auroch Digital is an independent game development studio based in Bristol, UK that works on original titles, partnership and work for hire projects. We specialise in board, card and strategy games working with major IPs, and our acclaimed 'GameTheNews' project which is widely regarded as a global leader in the production of newsgames and "games with purpose". To sign up to our press mailing list, check out the link in the sidebar.
Auroch Digital was founded in 2010, initially as a consultancy, helping organisations like the BBC, Wellcome Trust and many others understand the business of games and gaming.
In October 2012, Auroch Digital expanded to become a development studio, creating pioneering newsgames like Narcoguerra and Endgame:Syria, earning our GameTheNews initiative its spot at the forefront of the “games with purpose” movement, with Auroch's Director, Tomas Rawlings, giving many talks around the world on this subject.
Today Auroch Digital also creates original games of its own for a more traditional gamer audience, as well as working in partnership with other games companies and major brands to develop titles using existing IPs.
The studio continues to grow and is already recognised as a leading development studio with a serious talent for connecting the real with the digital.

Dark Future: Blood Red States (PC, Other Platforms TBC)
We're working on Dark Future: Blood Red States, a RealTimeShift Vehicular Action Strategy game that combines the tactical play of an RTS, with the intensity and quick thinking that action games demand.
Set in the dangerous and gangcult-controlled highways of Games Workshop's classic Dark Future universe, Blood Red States tasks players with building up a mercenary team of Sanctioned Ops and then taking them out onto the climate change-ravaged Big Empty of the United States. There they'll issue commands to fight dramatic rolling battles against violent gangs in heavily armed cars and trucks, while unravelling some of the mysteries hiding in the American wasteland.
Plague Inc: Evolved (PC, Mac, Linux)
Plague Inc: Evolved is considered by many as the prime example of how mobile can successfully be translated to PC. Auroch Digital worked in collaboration with Ndemic Creations to help make Plague Inc. on desktop a reality. The new version sees the same captivating gameplay with the addition of multiplayer, user-generated content and much more.
Endgame: Syria is a free interactive exploration of events unfolding in Syria today. Developed in around two weeks in December 2013, the game allows users to explore the options open to the Syrian rebels as they push the conflict to its endgame. Each choice the user makes has consequences – the types of military units you may deploy, the political paths you choose to tread. Not only does each choice impact the current situation but your choices may also impact the final outcome. Users can play and replay events to see how different choices on the ground might lead to different outcomes. This game was produced as part of our GameTheNews.net initiative.

“Eschews simple sound bites and embraces the real complexity and often self-contradictory nature of politics and conflict” - Pocket Tactics
“Explores the military and political nature of this conflict by showing how in-game actions effect both of those fronts” - Venture Beat

New York has only an hour left to live. A rare and strange phenomena known as 'spatial warping' has resulted in a dimensional breach from our world into a nightmare zone. All other attempts to stop this breach have failed. All that is left is one man facing overwhelming odds.

Can you End the Never-Ending War? NarcoGuerra is a challenging and tactical newsgame that puts you on the frontline of one of the most dangerous conflicts ever; the War on Drugs. As part of our GameTheNews initiative we took a look at the ongoing conflict from the perspective of the Mexican authorities trying to stamp out the drug trade within that embattled country. As the Chief of Police you must attempt to retake Mexico’s regions from the cartels whilst dealing with corruption within the police force itself.
