Auroch Digital, established in 2010 and based in Bristol, is a remote-first studio made up of 100~ developers from across the country.  

As a studio, we get stuck into all sorts, from making our own IP games (Brewmaster, Mars Horizon), working with trusted and licensed partners (Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun), publishing console ports (such as Democracy 4 and Wildermyth) and co-development work-for-hire projects (Sea of Thieves, V Rising).

Job Description: 

Role Overview: 

Working closely with the Studio Director of Auroch Digital, the Business Development Director will ensure that biz dev opportunities and industry relationships are generated, progressed and maintained. Focused on finding and developing new accounts, they will take a driving role in ensuring that the Auroch teams have a solid pipeline of projects to work on  

This person will be able to represent the Studio and position themselves at the forefront of partner’s, client’s, and stakeholder’s minds. They will be passionate about the industry and aligned with the Studio’s 5-year plans to help them succeed.  

The Business Development Director is a key role at the Studio and will be expected to get to know the Studio, our history and our teams well, to be able to represent us. 

Typical responsibilities: 

  • Track leads and opportunities, facilitate partner conference calls and meetings 

  • Keep existing deals moving forward 

  • Develop and maintain new and existing relationships with partners, clients and stakeholders  

  • Plan for conferences and partner visits  

  • Prepare presentation decks and coordinate information needed from different areas of the Studio 

  • Award submissions, e.g. BAFTA, MCV, TIGA etc.  

  • Identify opportunities relevant to Studio expertise  

  • Refresh and maintain biz dev systems 

What we're looking for: 

  • Entrepreneurial flair and an enthusiasm for challenges. 

  • Proven experience managing and growing clients. 

  • Existing relationships within the industry. 

  • Experienced with cross team development and working with external vendors and partners. 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. 

  • Positive attitude and a desire to bring new ideas to the team, looking to always improve studio performance. 

  • Happy and confident to represent Auroch Digital at industry conferences, client meetings, and in media opportunities. 

  • Must be patient and polite but also able to judge moments where push-back with both internal and external stakeholders is needed. 

  • Basic financial training and project management. 

  • Client facing experience, specifically for taking briefs and presenting work. 

  • Practical knowledge of service-based business models and challenges associated with this setup. 

  • Strong interest in video games. 

  • Awareness of current titles and industry trends.
