Job Description:
Role Overview:
Lead and line manage the QA team at Auroch Digital, as well as overseeing our testing procedures, testing approaches, test execution, and collaborating with other teams.
The QA team at Auroch Digital are well integrated into our projects and are key members of the development from the start. Each team member is a key developer on a project and the Lead QA Tester will support across all of our projects as well as supporting the team's personal growth and wellbeing as a manager. You’ll also go hands-on with testing when required.
Typical responsibilities:
Line Manage (potentially up to six) QA members; currently a mix of Associates and Mid-levels
Assisting with mentorship and development of other QA team members across all levels
Help plan QA deliverables and ensure coverage for all testing requests from all areas of development
Help refine and evolve the testing processes to ensure fast and accurate qualitative and functional testing
Review capacity of the team relating to the scope of the project
Ensure quality sign off on releases for production milestones
Be a point of contact for all QA-related communication
Take part in project leadership meetings and chair QA meetings
Be an advocate of QA throughout the organisation
Liaise with external testing teams at our publishing partners
What we're looking for:
To have shipped around 5 titles

Confident and Expert QA knowledge
Significant specialist QA talents in at least one practical area of QA (e.g. White Box Testing, automated testing, data analysis)
Strong people management skills - support your teams growth and understand their skills to get the best for each projects QA
Ability to handle QA on our most complicated projects
Ability to Create QA plans to turn around a project in trouble
Assist in maintaining and documenting Auroch’s QA methods
Ability to analyse and critique QA processes within the studio while providing viable alternatives
Understanding capacity, scope, and demand for projects, and across the studio
Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross discipline work across projects
Pro-actively offer useful advice and solid solutions to challenging QA issues
Well organised, both for yourself and others
Ability to anticipate risks and identify problems in the project early, and offer solutions for these
Expert in identifying early potential blockers and critical path issues
Expert in development hardware, understanding the tools and features, able to resolve issues and teach this to other members of the team
First-rate organiser, for themselves and others.
Strong understanding of CQA
Able to create basic in-engine automated test scripts
