Job Description:
Role Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced and talented Audio Designer that can take point at senior level and be responsible for a projects audio design.
Your responsibilities will involve crafting and enhancing what audio can offer our players, keeping their fun at the forefront.
A passion for the Warhammer universe is incredibly valuable as you'll be joining our team for a PC/Console title that is currently in production. The team is seasoned, and every contributor has a big impact. The role is focused on content creation, including weapons, abilities, environmental assets, items, and potentially some music cues – this role offers great scope in further stamping an impact on our audio output across design, technical systems and the implementation of audio throughout the game.
You will take ownership and be the point-of-contact when assessing needs and creating assets whilst working efficiently and to budget at all times.
Typical responsibilities:
Working independently and taking ownership of a project's audio demand. Reporting to line management with progress updates along the way – presenting ideas to stakeholders and the wider team where applicable, respecting budgets and the allotted time given to complete a task.
Using native processes to efficiently deliver the content you create to a high-quality standard.
Track the progress of content implementation to ensure it is delivered on time.
Assess and communicate any issues/risks within reasonable timeframes.
Collaborating with Code and working to some predetermined systems based on the games vision and needs.
Take documented design for characters, weapons, levels, enemies, and items – producing and implementing audio assets for all. Adhering to studio LOQ standards, from concept to completion.
Work in-engine (Unity & Unreal) to create content and build-out audio behaviour sequences that support game mechanics and player fun.
In-engine mixing, ensuring that a ‘busy’ sonic landscape is clear and balanced for the player.
Produce required documentation that is clear and concise, ensuring that it is kept up to date.
Required:
UK Based
At least 2 shipped PC/Console games, full cycle (x1 of which where Senior responsibilities were evident).
The ability to be a project point of contact (Key).
Knowledge of and working comfortably within Unity and Unreal Engine.
A player-first design philosophy.
Good time management skills.
Receptive to feedback/direction and licence-holder requirements.
Proactive in collaborating with others and seeking feedback.
Ability to maximise and advance native tool usage (e.g. MetaSounds).
Familiarity with games in the indie/Triple-I space, and a passion for gaming in general.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documenting and presenting ideas.
Desirable:
Evidence of working to deadlines and delivering key milestones to stakeholders.
A passion for the Warhammer universe.
Some Unity technical proficiency (e.g. Scripting).
Other experience as an Audio/Sound Designer is valuable (e.g. Film, Location, VO engineering).
Diligent and attentive to detail.
Ability to produce music cues to varying design briefs.
